Marriott incidents.

A group of ppl who i bet were having a bath or swimming when the incident happened.. they were just wearing bathrobe and wandering around with panic expression.

Me and my team were standing here while waiting for the confirmation from the other team to where the participants will be staying.

Did i mention that since June (scheduled until August) we have a series event held @ JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta every Tuesday-Wednesday and Friday-Saturday..

As we all know before, Friday 17th July 2009 me and my team, as usual, prepared everything we need at the office first that we head to the hotel to wait for our participants who just arrived morning from the airports , i have my team split up, some were going to the airports to fetch the participants while im with the other team heading to the hotel..
Surprisingly, me and my team were supposed to be at the hotel at appr.7 AM, but things just happened.. such as we ordered 2 taxi and instead only 1 came, so we spent another 10 mins waiting for the other one.. then when me and my team already inside the vehicles, one of my team suddenly shout that arent we supposed to pray first? remembering since it's the 10th of the series event and we've only prayed once (first time of the event), i agreed and ask the other team to come down and pray together first.. and then off we go.. i still remembered it was about 7.20AM when we off go from the office.. then as usual, we stuck at the traffic for another 20 mins when suddenly our other team who first arrived at the hotel called us and asked us not to come because there has been a bomb at the marriott.. surprised, shocked but still couldnt believe whether it's just a rumor or what, we called the manager of the marriott and when he confirmed that it's true and he's just being evacuated out from the hotel, suddenly i couldnt feel my legs.. first thing i remember is that i NEED to call home to my dad, told him what happened, and let him know that im okay and no need to worry. He, of course, surprised because it was such a sudden news.
Later on, we knew we couldnt stay long doing nothing because there were hundred of participants waiting at the airport. we have to do our best as the EO, we moved the participants to the other hotels near the venue (luckily, who still give our their best services for our last minutes requirements) and the event run smoothly eventhough we did cancelled the whole day's schedule due to the incident.

I was shocked after 4 PM when we already finished taking care of the participants and rest in our hotel room and turn on the TV and watch the news.. the location of the bombing located in JW Marriott is the EXACT place where me and my team were supposed to be! we were supposed to be at that area if we didnt spend last 20 mins waiting for another taxi or else. My God, knowing that me and all my team were blessed that day really give me a goosebumps.. But i do still gave my deepest condolences for those who couldnt make it.. Such a story, such a tragedy.. but even the saddest moment of your live, u still need to know that you're still blessed and loved.

FYI, for my series event, the team has been informed that the event has been froze for 2 weeks (this is the first week still) and will later be informed if the events will still continues or stopped.
